Yay! Pride for the win!
I have tried to make soup before and it was always a failure. It’s supposed to be one of the easiest things to make, and that may be true, but having it taste good is an entirely different story. Well, behold my turkey soup! It was sooo fun making this. I had saved the turkeybird carcass from Thanksgiving and finally felt like making the actual soup. The broth simmered on the stove for hours and we had fun sneaking into the kitchen quite often to stir it. It smelled amazing.
Nearer to dinner I made some bread in the breadmaker and it timed out well to be ready on time for dinner.
While the bread was baking we simmered the strained broth with veggies. We had some frozen left-over turkey to add to the broth but there wasn’t enough to satisfy me so I cooked up some chicken and put that in too. It worked out REALLY well and was one of the best dinners we have had! I can’t wait to have it for dinner again tonight with another fresh loaf of bread.
